The girls have wanted boots for weeks. They found some they liked on Zappos but I'm just so reluctant to buy shoes on-line that I procrastinated. While we were in NY over Christmas, we needed a reason to get out of the house so a trip to the mall seemed to be a good idea. We had to exchange a shirt I bought for Macy any way so off we went. The first store didn't have anything either of them liked but then the second store had a pair that Delaney really liked. They were cute, in her size and reasonably priced. Macy found a pair she liked but when she tried them on, she discover they were not "clompy" boots. (Don't worry, I didn't get it either. She wanted them to make a clicking noise when she walked.) We were about to give up when we found these. While they are no where near as cute as the other pair, that didn't matter at all to Macy, who's priority was the clompiness of them. They too were reasonably priced so we were out of the store with 2 new pairs of boots and 2 ecstatic children.
Of course, these are now the footwear of the century and must be work every day. We have had to start packing gym shoes in their bags for recess and PE but that's OK, they are happy. So this morning while we were out waiting for the bus, Macy exclaims, "Pig's feet!" HUH? She pointed down to the shadow made by her boot and proclaimed that they looked like pig's feet and, of course, they do! Leave it to a 6 year old to see THAT!
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
