While Floyd isn't the smartest animal on the planet, he does condition fairly easily with repeated exposure to a stimulus and action. I have my watch alarm set to go off at 4:00 pm to remind me to go meet the bus. I usually bring Floyd with me to, "get the girlies." So after several months (I told you he wasn't smart) he started associating the watch alarm with going out to the bus stop. It's actually pretty funny because he will pop up out of what looks like a dead sleep and start to whine to go out.
Moving on, January 3rd was a chilly one by NC standards so I had on my big fat down parka and Floyd was wearing his coat. I had my camera with me and noticed how odd our shadows looked with the late afternoon sun directly behind us. I dropped the camera to my chest and started snapping. It took several tries to get the pic even this well framed but I thought it was pretty cool. I cropped it some more and played with the shadows a little bit to make it more dramatic but this was my favorite artsy shot of the day.
Is there anything better than that sweet moment just before the kids get off the bus. Most days, it is a time of smiles and hugs. A little mini re-unification celebration every day. This is my favorite moment of the day.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
