Since you all know I am now in Disney, I bet you were expecting my pic today to be from Disney, well you were partly correct. While we were finishing up the packing this morning, I heard the neighborhood hawks start squawking and even mentioned it to the girls. A few seconds later, KC, who was outside at the time, came banging on the back door frantically motioning for me. At first I thought something was wrong but then he told me that both the hawks were in our tree in the back yard. I grabbed my camera and took a shot. Realizing I really needed my big lens, KC ran back inside and grabbed it for me. We did a quick exchange and I took a few more. These two beautiful birds have been residents in our neighborhood for as long as we have lived here. Does anyone know how long red tailed hawks live? I wouldn't have guessed it was more than a few years but these two have been around for at least 8-9! We see them very often and hear them even more frequently. Lots of times it's because they are being harassed by the crows, as was the case today. Eventually, they took off again because the swarm of crows started encroaching and like a cat with a puppy, they just don't have time for that foolishness. So they spread their wings and glide off dignity in tact.
So, yes, I am in Disney and it would be very Scroogly of me to not have at least ONE Disney pic up today.
This here is the reason I love Disney. It's the little things that are everywhere. This is the Mickey made of a hand towel and two wash cloths that greeted us on our bed when we walked in. At dinner tonight, they brought out a big barrel of wooden horse heads and the kids all got up and galloped around the restaurant for a few minutes while they played some crazy music. Normally, I'd think that was obnoxious in a regular restaurant but here, it's all about the kids and they love it. Everyone embraces that philosophy and you are ALWAYS greeted with a smile and a can do attitude. Magic does happen here. As soon as we step on the bus, our attitudes are improved and we are all smiles. When they say it's the happiest place on Earth, they were not kidding.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
