While I was at work today, I received a text from KC asking if I wanted to do lunch. The girls were at the Clubhouse and I was done with patients at 12 so it was a good day to have some alone time. We scanned our coupons and found one for The Corner. A little tavern near us that has some decent pub food. I had a B.A.L.T. (Bacon, Avocado, Lettuce and Tomato for the uninitiated) with some sweet potato fries. KC had the avocado chicken sandwich special. We sat and talked about the state of things for a while and generally enjoyed our lunch. I noticed these really cool figurines on a shelf above the bar and they reminded me of New Orleans. I've never been there but we had started to plan a trip. Then Innerpulse closed and we had to put that on hold for a while. We will get there eventually but not this year. In the meantime, little things like this will keep the anticipation alive.
After dinner, KC needed to go down to Apex to pick something up for a project on which he is working. Pat and Teresa have a Shitzu named Arnie that the girls just love. They had mentioned bringing Floyd down sometime to meet Arnie so we asked if it would be OK to bring him and they agreed.
In typical Floyd fashion, he took his time getting acquainted with Arnie but once Floyd had investigated his new surroundings and gotten a good sniff of Arnie, he was ready to play. The two of them romped for a good long time. Then we looked down and found the girls imitating how the two were playing. Floyd was trying to get ahold of Arnies legs and Arnie was just trying to get on top. Every time Arnie got behind him, Floyd would plop down on his back and squirm away. Macy was pretending to be Floyd and Delaney was Arnie. I love that they were getting along so well and that they were using their imaginations but even I must admit this was a little odd.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
