While I was at the gym today sitting at the table working on KC's birthday present, a man came in and sat down across from me with his son. I smiled and waved to him and he gave me the biggest grin. I asked his father if I could take a picture of him. He consented and I snapped a few shots.
While I was going through my pics for today, cropping and adjusting them in iPhoto, I noticed the wall behind this little guy completely dominated the picture. I don't normally do B&W but the gym lobby's walls are painted an obnoxious kelly green. the adorableness of this little guy just had to shine through so I had to mute the wall somehow. Fading it bleached the child's face more than the wall which made the effect even worse. Vignetting looked odd so B&W it was. Such a happy face! I couldn't resist sharing it.
Changing topics: The girls finally got a chance to dig into the pandas. They turned out to be too much for both of them. Macy only ate the frosting. Delaney only ate the cake. Could they be more different? :)
Changing topics again: Kirsten came over for a few hours today for a catch-up. It was so good to see her and just chat. Jack was into everything upstairs and the girls were a little over that so we kept him downstairs as much as we could. He was determined to get up them. Fast little bugger this one. He did stop for a few minutes when I turned on the keyboard. What do you think? The next Elton John?
We had a very busy social calendar today. The Ayscues came over for tacos. The girls hadn't had them in so long neither of them remembered ever having them. Miraculously, they both tried the taco meat and both loved it! They even got Mags to try it and admit to liking it. Hattie tried it but couldn't bring herself to say she liked it.
Anyway, after dinner, the grownups sat down to talk. Rachel got a new camera for Christmas and she really wants to learn how to use it so I brought out my new camera and showed her what all the buttons do. Her camera isn't an SLR but just one step from it so she will have many of the controls of an SLR. While I was going through all the settings, I was demonstrating some of them. Our favorite subject was the cider bottle on the coffee table in front of us. Here are some of the shots using a few different effects.
OK! FatCow appears to be having a slight problem uploading the 4 pics I wanted to show you so I'll try again later. :-\
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
