This was a tough one to choose the top pic for today. I really wanted to group all the pics of the kids together but I couldn't pass up the joy of this one.
Macy had her first grade field trip to Laurel Hills Park in Raleigh today. I chaperoned a group of 4 little girls. We had a great time tromping through the "woods" on a scavenger hunt. We never did find a bird, go figure!
After lunch, where we saw a squirrel to check off the scavenger hunt list, it was time to play on the play ground. I love this one as it is an accessible one, although you do end up with sand in your shoes.
The trip ended with a very cool nature presentation and digging in the pond for critters. Yes, it was a mess but they had a great time and, surprise! no one fell in! Not even Macy.
Here are the rest of the pics from our trip through the park.
After a day at the park, I had to make cupcakes for Macy's party tomorrow.
She has been obsessed with unicorn Pegasuses lately and that is what she asked for. There was no such pattern in my "Hello Cupcake" book but I took the butterfly wing technique, combined it with the horse pattern and using a vanilla Tootsie Roll, I made a horn. Combine all that and, "Voila" blue sparkly unicorn Pegasus!
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
