We are trying something new this year. Normally I plant the typical annuals: petunias, marigolds, impatiens, etc in our annual bed. I went to Garden Supply looking for zinnias and gerbera daisies but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. As a substitute for the gerbera daisies, I found this delightful little guy. We planted on Sunday but it took them a few days to recover from the trauma of transplantation. Today they were very happy and so was I.
When shooting it, I wanted to get all the petals in focus so I knew I needed a deep field of view so I shot it by closing down my aperture as far as I could (f36!!!!) I took a deep breath, let it out slowly and at the very end, held still and depressed the shutter button. I cropped it a little bit for symmetry and adjusted the shadows slightly. I'm pretty happy with it.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
