Walking Floyd this morning, the light was very pretty. I particularly liked the way it was hitting these leaves and the one with the premature red spot on it caught my eye. I am still familiarizing myself with my 50mm so I bracketed all over the place and then went back and sorted through them to get the best exposure. I did some adjustment of color in LR an cropped it very slightly but it's pretty close to original. (50mm, f2.0, 1/1000)
On a different topic, I'd just like to say, today was hot. Our first triple digits of the summer. Blech! Shadows and highlights were adjusted to help show the LCD better and cropping had to be done. (50mm, f2.2, 1/400)
And yet another topic: Today was the 4th quarter recognition ceremony at LPES. Delaney was recognized as "Best Effort Student of the Quarter." In honesty it doesn't mean all that much but it makes the kids feel acknowledged and it costs so little to encourage positive behavior and effort, I don't see the harm. Not every one gets something every time and I imagine the teacher does try to give the awards to coincide with specific children's efforts for the quarter so it's valid I suppose. The 1st is her class when Ms. Maye was announced. They were so very loyal. I added vignetting to the 2nd one because I felt like it needed something to help pop Delaney out at her "moment." Some cropping and minor color adjustments have also been made in LR.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
