We had the Dayans up to the lake this weekend to test run the 4th of July shots, get some background footage and of course, have fun. I was shooting video as well as stills. I gave all the video to Eyal since he's the video master and I kept the stills. This one is of the fishing nets that the kids use to catch fish. Even though we tell them all the time to put them away, inevitably they are left in the middle of the dock. Instead of getting upset, I decided I liked the texture of the net and wanted to experiment with my 50mm lens so I took several shots. This was my favorite of the bunch. (50mm, f3.5, 1/3200)
Here's another one of my favorites of the weekend. We stopped at an island to "explore" it. As we pulled up to the beach, I noticed a pile of what I thought at first was gravel but as we got closer I realized it was millions of shells. Continuing with the desire to experiment with my new lens, I hopped out and snapped a few. This was the best of the bunch. (50mm, f1.8, 1/2000 but somehow I had the EV set to 1.3 go figure)
Here are the rest of the pics from the weekend.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
