Today was Delaney's end of year gymnastics banquet at the Double Tree in Durham. They have a pretty little pond out back. The girls all went back there to have pictures taken. As I followed them back, I noticed a gentleman sailing a remote control sailboat. I had to stop and snap a few pics of it. I'm still working on perfecting the manual thing so they were all a little blown out so I had to adjust the highlights some and it's still a little too bright but I'm learning and I'll get it eventually.

We started the day with a bike ride to The Wake Zone. Macy got an enormous muffin and Delaney got an equally sized cinnamon bun. Neither of them was able to finish but they both made a decent dent in them. (22mm, f5, 1/200 with on camera flash)
The girls all lined up at the waterfall for pictures. Unfortunately, I only had my big lens on which would have been fine except for the fact that there were about 100 other parents all wanting pictures as well and I had to back up so far to get a shot, everyone else got in front of me. This was as good as I got. (70mm, f4.5, 1/160 with speed light)
The highlight of the evening for most of the girls was the swimming afterwards. The hotel pool was pretty cool with an outdoor and indoor part. The 2 sections were connected through a separator in the glass wall which had a sill on it. All the girls were doing pull ups on the thing. Can you name another group of girls you could put together where every last one of them could do that? (35mm, f5, 1/160)
Look! I even got her smiling!
Macy and her friend Lydia at the banquet. The 2 of them are such cards. Level 3 is going to be fun this year with these 2.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
