Olivia had a test in Tae Kwon Do today. I asked Kirst if I could come watch and take some pics to get some low light fast speed practice and she immediately agreed. First, let me say, I was blown away by Olivia's performance. She was so focused and had such amazing control. I was so proud of her. Congratulations O.
I was able to get right down on the mat so my 24-70 was just fine for filling the frame for the most part. I ran into some white balance issues but that's common for sodium vapor lighting and I was able to fix it post so all is well. I made a composite of a few of my favorites for her. Hope she likes it.This was by far my favorite pic of the day. (ISO 1600, 70mm, f2.8, 1/125)
After the TKD test, I went home and had to make cupcakes for Delaney's belated birthday sleepover. I baked them an made the different colors of frosting. Then the girls frosted them with varying degrees of cleanliness. The paintbrush is made out of a rolled out Tootsie-Roll, part of a fruit roll-up and a bread stick. The pallet is simply cardboard cut to look like that. Pretty simple. The actual recipe called for different colored liners but to me, that just seemed ridiculously expensive, difficult and overly complicated so I went with foil instead and they were a big hit despite not having matchin liners. I had to climb up on the stool to get this pic but I didn't fall so all's well. (ISO 1600, 35mm, f4.0, 1/320)
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
