As I was inside working, Delaney came running in yelling, "Mommy! Come quick! There's a blue heron!" I grabbed my camera and rushed out the backdoor. Unfortunately, it was raining and the heron was all the way across the pond. I had to run back in to get my bigger lens. KC, bless him, came out to hold the umbrella over me and my camera. I got the lens only to realize, it had been stored in the AC for the past few hours and as soon as I put the camera up to my face, I realized it was fogging up. KC to the rescue again with a cloth. The light was pretty bad so I had to up the ISO to 800 to get a decent exposure so the noise is a little eh but it was the best of the bunch. (ISO 800, 300mm, f5.6, 1/160)
It was a choppy start to the day. I actually lay on the dock to get down as close as possible to the level of the waves. At fist I really didn't like this picture but after looking at it a little longer, it's growing on me. Not my best shot ever but I thought it was a good indicator of the weather.
The wind and rain didn't stop the kids from having a good time though.
Once the skies cleared a bit, the kids took full advantage of the temperature.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
