KC had to work this afternoon so after I saw my one patient in the morning, I told the girls we'd go get pedicures. Now, I've heard some pretty bad things about some nail places so I did a bit of research before making a decision. I didn't wan't to drive all the way to Raleigh and I didn't want to spend a fortune. Also, I didn't want to go to a full service spa since they tend to not look kindly on bringing kids in. Kind of ruins the relaxing atmosphere they work so hard to establish when there are kids running around and making a lot of kid noise. I found Rose Nails over in Crossroads. It got very good reviews and their prices seamed reasonable. I made appts for us at 1:00 for us.
We were going to eat lunch, get the cat, bring her home and head off to the salon. The girls chose to go to Sub Way. Not my favorite but better than some things they could have chosen! Plus, it's in the same shopping center as the vet so I wasn't going to complain.
Turned out that Cecelia hadn't gotten her blood work or rabies shot yet so they asked if we could stop back in to pick her up. That actually worked out better for us since it would have been a little tight getting to Crossroads in time if we'd had to back track up to the house to drop the cat off.
We got there and the girls were almost overwhelmed with the color choices. They finally settled on red and blue (Olympic spirit maybe?) and I found a cool purple one.
The girls had a great time and even got flowers put on their big toes! I had my calluses removed too. (Spent the extra $5 - big spender!!!) Since competition season is going to start in a few weeks, we can't do this again until Dec but we will definitely be back. They were great.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
