This morning I met Jennifer Talley, a level 3 mom, over at Bond Park to help with photography. We walked around the lake stopping every now and then to see what there was to see. It was a great opportunity for me to slow down and think about what I was doing in order to be a more effective teacher. I hope she got as much out of it as I did. Here are some other pics I got today.
I was explaining the rule of thirds and framing to Jennifer and took this picture as a before.
Then to show a different look and a demonstration of depth of field and exposure, I took a few more. It's kind of like Goldilocks, too light, too dark, just right.
As we came around the lake we came across this couple fishing for catfish. We asked if we could take pictures and this gentleman happily obliged. Later, I went back around the lake to look for my coffee mug (which I never found) and she asked me for copies of the pics so I took her e-mail address and sent her these 2. And, yes, Eyal, I did put a copyright on the version I sent to them.
On the way out, we wanted to get some action shots and as fortune would have it, we found a cricket match in progress! How fun! I have no idea how to play but the ball get's pitched and hit like in baseball so I focused in on those to aspects of it to get a good stop action shot. As I read a few weeks ago, instead of spray and pray, I tried to time it so I could capture the apex of action. I was shooting with my 70-300 so it wasn't a super fast lens but since I was outside, I was capable of getting something.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
