We celebrated Grandma's 93rd birthday today. Every year, when we all bring out all her gifts, she says the same thing, "It's like Christmas!" She has so much spunk, everyone just adores her. You can tell by the children wanting to be right there with her that she's something special to them. I think the big smile on her face tells you Grandma has embraced every minute of these 93 years with the joy of living. Happy Birthday Grandma!
Gary and Kathy had new stones put in along the shore to stop the erosion. The "mud pie" the kids had been constructing all summer was moved into a bucket and stored on the dock in the interim. Now that the rocks have all been placed, it had to be replaced. KC had saved the flat rock it was built on and found a spot to house it. Then the pie was re-seated. I'm not certain this much thought was put into moving Hatteras Lighthouse! And for my actual best shot of the day. They were pretty much just snap shots but this one is a nice pic of Ben. He loves his boats and I got this one as he was spinning in circles in the lake. Almost immediately after I took this, he ended up behind the edge of the dock so I couldn't have even tried to get another shot. He didn't know he was being shot so it wasn't like he was deliberately trying to avoid me. He did that to me 3-4 times this weekend. I'd try to get a shot and he'd instantaneously disappear behind something. Ha! Little boy! I got you this time!
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
