I mentioned my mother coming down. After a hectic day of missing connecting flights and being bumped around on alternates, she finally arrived. The girls were thrilled to see their Ahmah.
The reason she was coming down was to see them compete in the Think Pink Invitational tomorrow. It is hosted by Kisport Gymnastics in Burlington.
As you can see, Burlington isn't that terribly far away from Cary but the fact that Macy had an 8:00 am open stretch meant we had to be there at 7:30 am which meant leaving here at 6:30 am which meant getting up around 5:30 am. If we wanted Macy to be able to function, let alone perform, that was NOT going to work. At the last minute we decided to just suck it up and get a hotel room. The Hampton Inn had a room with 2 queens and a pull-out sofa reasonably priced so we took it.
Macy had practice until 6:30 and by the time we got the car packed and hit the road, it was close to 7:30 so we did a quick stop at the CFA where I got a snapshot of my mom with the girls.
Turns out the room was palatial! I had Delaney share a bed with my mother since last week, she and Macy had issues sharing a bed. Delaney doesn't do well on pull-outs and I didn't want to put my mother on one of those terribly uncomfortable things. Macy tried it out and said it was very comfy. I suppose when you only weight 41 pounds, it doesn't matter so much but for the rest of us, ugh! On top of that, I know from experience that sleeping with Macy is like sleeping with a windmill. Not pleasant. This worked out best for everyone even though there were BMX races going on next to the hotel in the middle of the night. Seriously, 2am and there were revving engines and some trashy woman on a loudspeaker. I was so close to calling the front desk to complain but that would have required me to get out of bed and once I'm in bed, it has to be pretty major to get me out.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
