Tomorrow is our 10th (can you believe that!) anual holiday party. Over the years it has morphed and adapted to what we feel is appropriate. The first year we lived here, we actually hired the neighborhood girls to sit upstairs and watch everyone's kids. Needless to say, we never did THAT again. We gradually phased out the cold cuts and rolls and wheedled it down to a few bowls of chips with hummus, a small plate of fruit, a small plate of veggies and several hot hors d'oeuvres from Trader Joe's. However, there are 2 traditions that have endured: the eclair cake I make from an old family friend's recipe and the Ritz and peanut butter dipped in chocolate. People have told us they wait all year for these 2 treats. So tonight while I made the eclair cake, KC and the girls made the Ritz/peanut butter/chocolate cookies. I paused to capture the sweet (pun intended) moment between father and daughters.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
