It was finally cold enough to justify using all that beautiful wood we had delivered. Floyd soaks it up! He even stays put when I leave the room for short periods preferring the warmth of the fire to being as close as possible to me. For this shot I actually used a tripod but I still failed miserably. The first rule of shooting an animal is focus on the animal's close eye. I missed so badly I can't even begin to explain what I was thinking. At the time, I thought I was going slow enough to remember everything I needed to remember but obviously, I missed a biggie! I must give props to the sharpness of the fireplace though.
