The sky was beautiful today. The light was nicely coming through the leaves so I decided to take out my camera and see what I could do. I was using my Sigma 24-70mm which I've been having some doubts about. When I'm shooting JPG or around the house type stuff, it's fine but the times I've used it for portraits or landscapes I'm seeing it's not quiet up to snuff. My camera magnifies it's flaws. I bought it because it's about a 1/3 the price of the Nikon but now that I've been using it for a while, I'm seeing why people pay for the best. This is not a great lens. It's adequate for most situations but I will not use it for portraits any more and if I'm going to shoot any landscapes, I'll bust out one of my Nikon lenses.
I was disappointed with my series of shots so I played around with it in LR and ended up boosting the blue to the max, sharpening it quiet a bit and playing with some of the other colors as well. It made for an interesting picture if not a great picture.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
