A few weeks ago, we finally brought the girls back over to The Pet Pad to get a new beta. At the store, he was beautiful and lively. The kid who worked there even pointed him out to his co-worker as the most beautiful beta he'd ever seen!
We got him home and did the transfer just as we were taught. We put the bag in the tank we had pre-filled the night before to allow everything to come to the same temperature. Then after a 1/2 hr, we let the fish out into his beautiful new world.
He hid for a while but then he started floating. Uh-oh! we all thought. But upon closer inspection, he was still breathing. We thought, maybe he's in a little shock and he'll eventually get used to it. That was weeks ago. He's still floating at the top of the water. Every once in a while, I poke him to see if he's still alive and he dives down to the bottom swimming frantically for a few seconds but always ends up floating at the top again. Weird fish!
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
