It's hard to believe Delaney has been taking piano lessons for almost 2 years but then when I listen to her play, I am reminded how far she has come and it astounds me that she has learned that much in 2 years!
Today, she and her fellow students performed at the Cary Arts Center. The town was hosting an arts festival and the members CAPTA (Cary-Apex Piano Teachers Association) all signed up for a 1/2 hr session for their students to perform. Who knew there was an association for that?!?!? I'm glad there is though and Patti Cook has done wonderful things with Delaney.
I took this with my 24-70 again so the sharpness isn't spectacular. The colors in the room were very neutral making this a perfect candidate for a B&W. I used the LR Creamtone preset as a starting point. It's one of my favorites since it's not true B&W but leaves a little cream color in the whites. From there I adjusted the contrast a little bit to bring out some shadows and kill some highlights. I looked into some smoothing to counteract the noise due to the high ISO but as it turns out, this shot works with a little grain and noise. I really like this one.
I have uploaded it to You Tube so our families can see it. Here's that link:
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
