Tonight was the last night of Hanukkah. We invited the Dayans over for dinner. They brought their menorahs and dreidels and we all celebrated together with our Christmas tree lit up in the background. It was quiet festive. We had wine and cheese and lots of other good food.
The kids all took turns lighting the candles and the Dayans sang the appropriate song, which, of course, was in Hebrew so we didn't stand a chance. Good fun!
Earlier in the day, Olivia had a mid term belt test. Stu is out of town and bringing Jack to a 4 hour test is like, well, exactly what it is: asking a 3 year old to sit still for 4 hours. Kirst asked if I could watch him instead. Of course I said yes! I had forgotten just how much a 3 year old takes out of an old foagie like me! Those little animals are all go all the time! How did I make it through 2 of them? Thankfully, the K girls were over most of the day too so everyone pitched in to keep him occupied and happy. We all really had a blast and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. He's the closest thing I'll ever have to a son so in all honesty, I loved every minute of it.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
