Macy called me over this morning and told me her stomach hurt. I could tell by the way she was holding herself it wasn't a typical tummy ache. She pointed to where it hurt and it was directly between her umbilicus and R ASIS. (That was for my PT friends.) I palpated some and evoked a squeal of pain from her accompanied by real tears. Anyone who knows Macy can tell you that is NOT typical for her. She is one tough nut. I admit, I panicked a little and we brought her to the pediatric urgent care in Morrisville. We've never been there before but many of my friends have and everyone raves about them. They are correct in that assessment; they were fantastic. After an abdominal x-ray and some tests, we were sent home with a Dx of possible appendicitis but probable constipation. She prescribed magnesium citrate to get things moving and if it didn't improve to bring her back. Well, in typical Macy fashion, the magnesium citrate didn't work the way it was supposed to and she started throwing up. KC got a hold of the doctor who pulled us off the ceiling and told us that in a small percentage of cases, it can cause nausea. After a few more bouts of vomiting, she was fine but exhausted. This was the end of a long day for both of us.
A huge thank you to Dana and Eyal for taking Delaney for the morning and to Lisa for staying with me via text while I panicked.
I played with color and actually decreased the clarity to get this the way I wanted. You may not like it but it tells the story I want.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
