Here is my second attempt at the shot I was going for last week. I meant to leave for work a few minutes early to catch the light a little earlier but the girls were out of school today. That completely threw me off and I didn't have time to stop on my way in so I had to stop on my way out. The light wasn't quite as good but at least I had a nice bright blue sky today! Again, I was a little nervous that a neighbor would see me and ask me what I was up to, or even worse, call the police and give them my description and plate info and then later in the day be driving around and get pulled over and brought downtown for suspected terrorism. The police in this particular town are known to be a little hard nosed and will jump at the opportunity for a little excitement. Fortunately, the few people who saw me, looked at me askance but that's about it. My luck is holding up!
Anyway, I did remember to bring my big lens today and zoomed all the way in. Last time I shot from the bottom of the hill. This time I went farther up the other side of the hill to get a better perspective. I tried landscape first but there was just too much asphalt in the frame that way. I took a few more moving a little bit each time and then bracketed up one stop on a few of them. Those were all over-exposed so this exposure was the best bet. This was the best angle but I'm still not happy with it. Maybe next week I'll have some better light and I will be able to capture the look I'm trying to convey.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
