A few days ago, I was out walking with Floyd and as I walked through the tunnel under the Parkway, I noticed something hanging on the wall. At first I thought it was a mud dauber nest but in February, that would be really strange. As I got closer, I realized it was fuzzy. Then I realized it was a bat! I did not have my camera with me so I took a picture with my phone to show to the girls. I figured it was a fluke and hoped that the poor thing wouldn't be disturbed by some bratty teenager.
Today was a gorgeous day and I went for a run. As I passed through the tunnel, I looked to see if he was there again and to my delight, he was! I, obviously didn't have my camera with me but I got home, grabbed it and hurried back. There were so many people out today I was very worried that he'd be noticed and shoed away. To my extreme excitement, he was still there. I took a few shots and people passing by looked at me strangely but I'm getting used to that. I can't say this little guy is cute up close but there's something about his fuzziness that's appealing.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
