One of the better programs at Kingwood is their participation in Science Olympiad. Macy made the team and I volunteered to be a coach for the First in Flight teams. Basically, they have to fold paper airplanes and they are judged on one of 2 criteria: longest distance or longest flight time. A major requirement in this event is folding paper crisply so I am focusing on that first. The second most important aspect is symmetry, another challenge for 9-11 year olds. Finally, throwing form; yet another piece of the puzzle. I'm hoping they can put it all together in time for the competition on April 18.
I originally had a picture up there with all the faces visible but I do not have photo releases from the parents so I intentionally blurred the faces of the other kids.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
