It's Thursday so Macy didn't have practice which means she has time to pick up the guitar and get in some practice there. I got a few shots in. None were good but this was the best of the bunch.
I asked Delaney if I could take a picture and this is the look she gives me. That's about all I have today.
Apparently My Guys was held up at another site due to rain last week so they had to push us off a day. Therefore I took a few more pics of the house pre new siding.
KC and I have decided to bite the bullet and replace the Masonite siding on the house. We were a part of the class action lawsuit a few years ago and that paid to replace what had already rotted but we've had more rot since then and it's BAD.
The company we had replace our windows last year, My Guys, is also a Hardiplank preferred installer. They gave us a good deal so away we go.
They said 2 1/2 weeks. I'll keep you updated.
Sunday morning and the girls have to get homework done before they can play with Meghann and Sarah. Delaney is definitely working on math but I'm not so certain Macy is being as productive.
I only took this today so it's what I'm stuck with. I was impressed with the way that one slice of banana landed on it's side and stuck that way. My day didn't get any better than that so I am showing you the highlight of my day. Enjoy!
The irises in my front yard have bloomed and the purple ones are amazing. I had to snap a few pictures of them with the morning sun on them. In LR I played with the contrast and color a little but not too much. If I'd had time, I would have loved to have gotten out my macro lens and rails and work on more macro photography but alas, I had stuff to do today so this will have to do.
I lost my battery charger and my battery went dead so I've missed a few days. But I'm back now and tonight Macy was sleeping so sweetly I tried to shoot her. Initially I used my flash but it was washed out and did not show the cozy atmosphere of her room so I turned the flash off and tried again. I had to crank the ISO and open the aperture but even then it was still very dark and pink. I loaded it into LR5 and tried every trick I know to bring it around but the results were disappointing to say the least.
One of the reasons we moved Macy from Laurel Park to Kingswood was the STEM program. Kingswood participates in Science Olympiad and Macy made the team. I was the "First in Flight" coach for her team and we worked all year on how to fold and throw paper airplanes. There were 2 teams. One of my teams did better than the other and I'll leave it at that. We had fun and learned about the introductory physics of flying airplanes.
When Delaney started middle school, I was dubious and very skeptical about how she would survive at Davis Drive. They have a reputation for being very test focused, pushing the students, and stressing them out. Given that Delaney has never tested well and generally starts to unravel when pushed too hard, and it just sounded like a bad combination. I have underestimated my child and I've never been so happy to be wrong. For the third straight quarter, Delaney has made the AB Honor roll.
I'm a mother of 2 girls living in NC. I've dabbled in photography on and off but really this is just for fun
